I’m a freelance digital director specialising in strategy, service transformation and Agile working. I work on projects independently and as an associate at Door.
I help organisations understand how technology can help them achieve their objectives, and work with teams to make this happen. My particular interests are digital skills, culture and leadership.
My assignments often involve me leading teams to deliver a programme or service transformation. I’ve led digital teams to deliver discovery phases, prototypes, website transitions and live services at organisations including the Government Digital Service (GDS), Public Health England and the Department for Businesses, Energy and Industrial Strategy. I can lead established digital teams, set up new digital teams, help non-digital teams adopt agile and user-centred approaches, or manage suppliers.
I also work on proposition development and commercial strategy, for clients including Hewlett Packard, EY and SMEs in design, technology and professional services.
I enjoy delivering training on digital and leadership, including a course about digital project management for charities and non-profits, with Sarah Jackson. I teach leadership skills to digital and design experts, with Ade Adewunmi. And I train and coach senior managers to become digital leaders.
I regularly talk about digital, transformation and leadership at conferences and events. Recent speaking engagements include General Assembly, Service Design in Government, Think Cloud for Digital Government and UCD.
